Allahumma inna nas'aluka fi safarina hadha al-birra wat-taqwa, wa minal-'amali ma tarda. Allahumma hawwin 'alayna safarana hadha watwi 'anna bu'dahu
O Allah, we ask You on this journey for righteousness, taqwa, and deeds that please You. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and shorten its distance.
When to recite: At the start of a long journey. The Prophet ﷺ would recite this when setting out on travel.
Allahumma Rabbas-samaawatis-sab'i wa ma adhlaln, wa Rabbal-aradinas-sab'i wa ma aqlaln, wa Rabbar-riyahi wa ma dharayn, as'aluka khayra hadhihil-qaryati wa khayra ahliha, wa a'udhu bika min sharriha wa sharri ahliha
O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and all they shade, Lord of the seven earths and all they bear, Lord of the winds and all they scatter — I ask You for the good of this town and its people, and seek refuge from its evil and the evil of its people.
When to recite: When arriving at a new city, town or destination.
