Rabbi awzi'ni an ashkura ni'matakal-lati an'amta 'alayya wa 'ala walidayya wa an a'mala salihan tardahu wa aslih li fi dhurriyyati
My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favour which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring.
When to recite: Comprehensive dua for gratitude toward parents and righteous offspring. Recite daily.
Allahummaghfir lahu warhamhu wa 'afihi wa'fu 'anhu, wa akrim nuzulahu wa wassi' mudkhalahu, waghsilhu bil-ma'i wath-thalji wal-barad, wa naqqihi minal-khataya kama yunaqath-thawbul-abyadu minad-danas
O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him, grant him health and pardon him, make his resting place noble and spacious, wash him with water, snow and hail, and cleanse him of his sins as a white garment is cleansed of filth.
When to recite: For a deceased parent. The Prophet ﷺ taught this at funerals. Recite frequently for your parents who have passed.
Allahummaghfir lahu warfa' darajatahu fil-mahdiyyeen, wakhlufhu fi 'aqibihi fil-ghabireen, waghfir lana wa lahu ya Rabbal-'alameen, wafsah lahu fi qabrihi wa nawwir lahu fih
O Allah, forgive him and raise his rank among the guided, and be a successor to his descendants. Forgive us and him, O Lord of the worlds. Make his grave spacious and illuminate it for him.
When to recite: After a parent passes away. Continue to pray for them — the Prophet ﷺ said a child's dua for their parent is among the deeds that never stop.
Allahummaghfir li-hayyina wa mayyitina, wa shahidina wa gha'ibina, wa saghirina wa kabirina, wa dhakarina wa unthana
O Allah, forgive our living and our dead, those present and those absent, our young and our old, our males and our females.
When to recite: Comprehensive dua for all family members — living and deceased. Recite in janazah prayers and after salah.
